Join us to learn about bullying and school safety!

Illinois law (Lawn Care Products Application and Notification Act) requires all school districts to notify students and staff when lawn care chemicals are being used in or around school facilities.
Please be aware that, weather permitting, weed control and fertilization of the Byron High School varsity Baseball, Softball, and Soccer stadium fields will occur on Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27, 2024.
We are committed to minimizing the use of chemicals for weed control and lawn care, but at times, it is necessary for the proper maintenance of the facility. If you have any questions about the application of the lawn fertilizer, please contact the Director of Buildings and Grounds (815) 234-5491 Ext 4300.

New event alert! Head over to Blackhawk Park on Friday for the Tiger Trek! There will be free donuts, discounted coffee, and prize drawings. Also, for students that ride their bike to school on Friday, we will be riding bikes around Mary Morgan and BHS during lunch recess. Go Tigers!

Food Drives for Byron Schools Food Pantry
Byron Schools Food Pantry have been the lucky recipients of three separate food drives In February and March of 2024.
In February, Cora Physical Therapy and Holcomb Bank both held food drives. Customers and clients donated to the food pantry’s white food bins. The bins have been rotating around Byron Businesses for a few years, but these two businesses especially bring in a lot of non-perishables and other supplies on a regular basis.
Also, in February and March of this year Mary Morgan Second graders held a grade-wide food drive. The second graders, taught by Rebecca Hull, Rebecca King, Ashley Stickler, Joslynn Lindsay, Annie Burke, organized and collected thousands of items for the food pantry. To end the drive the second graders hand-delivered all the non-perishables and received a tour of the food pantry.
Susan Freyer, Caryn Hoover and Niki Yerly began the Byron Schools Food Pantry in July of 2018 and have seen so many efforts like these to help Byron School District’s families in need. The Byron Schools Food Pantry is intended for Byron students and their families who are experiencing hardships and food insecurities with 100% of all donations go to the students and their families.
If interested in making a donation, monetary donations can be mailed to: BHS Food Pantry, 696 N. Colfax St, Byron, IL 61010. Collection bins for food and hygiene supplies are located in each of the school’s offices and several other locations throughout Byron.
