On Friday, we had our first student recognition assembly of the year at BMS! It was a great way to celebrate all of the great things BMS students are doing inside and outside of the classroom. Byron School District Food Pantry “Current Needs” donation flyer listing urgently needed breakfast foods, including mini muffins, muffin mixes, cereal, instant oatmeal, granola bars, and cereal bars; meal and pantry staples, including macaroni and cheese, Hamburger Helper, complete boxed meals, boxed potatoes, canned tuna, chicken and other meats, ramen, taco kits, and crackers. Donations may be dropped off at any school office or Cora Physical Therapy in Byron. The flyer encourages community members to donate to help local families and support school families.
Great job by the 8th grade band, Mr. Maurizio, and Mrs. Haas at the football game on Friday! The 8th graders spent the last few weeks learning the music and the steps.

At this month’s meeting, the Builders Club learned about the Byron Public Libraries’ monthly activities for teens. Nancy McKay also brought a service project for them to complete. The club made cards for the organization Cards for Kids. These cards will be given to children who are in the hospital. Positive messages were written as well as fall decoration stickers were added. Their next meeting will be held Sept 30 at 7:00 am. New members are always welcomed.

If you have ever been to an 8th grade band concert, it's hard not to be impressed with the skill of our 8th graders. That skill is a result of the hard work of our students, Mr. Maurizio, and Mrs. Haas. The 2026-2027 School Year busing information is now available in Skyward. To access, go to your student(s) in Skyward, click on Portfolio on the left side of screen, then click Bus Schedule Live, and lastly click View Reports.
There have been many changes to bus routes for this school year due to the shortage in bus drivers.
Please make sure to pay special attention to pickup/drop off times, and bus #s as these could have changed for your student(s).
