Over the long weekend, BHS Junior Evan S. installed a Gaga Ball pit in our lunch recess area for his Eagle Scout project. It has been a huge hit with our students and will be a great long-term addition to our recess options! Great work Evan!

Public Notice
Illinois law (Lawn Care Products Application and Notification Act) requires all school districts to notify students and staff when lawn care chemicals are being used in or around school facilities.
Please be aware that, weather permitting, weed control and fertilization of the Byron School District grounds, including athletic fields will be done on Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, 2025. This will not affect any games/activities that are taking place on the athletic fields on Saturday.
We are committed to minimizing the use of chemicals for weed control and lawn care, but at times, it is necessary for the proper maintenance of the facility. If you have any questions about the application of the lawn fertilizer, please contact the Director of Buildings and Grounds (815) 234-5491 Ext 4300.

On Friday, March 21st, BMS had our third assembly of the year! At the assembly, we recognized a variety of clubs and activities, including our Polar Plungers, wrestlers, Ag club, and girls basketball. These are great events and this one helped start everyone's spring break on a great note! Go Tigers!

We want your help and feedback! It is time for the yearly 5 Essential Survey, and we would love to be able to increase our parent participation rate and hear directly from you areas of strength and areas of growth for Byron Middle School. Each student takes part in the survey and has earned an entry to win a gift card selected by each grade level team. They have a chance to earn a second entry if you take the survey as well. Once you have taken the survey, please email your child’s flex teacher. Once your child’s flex teacher has received word that you have completed the survey, your child earns a bonus entry into the drawing. All emails must be received BY MARCH 20th for the drawing on March 21st .While this becomes something fun for your student, we really want to celebrate the good things we are already doing at BMS and work towards fixing areas of concern. This survey will allow us to gather data to help reach that goal. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. All staff emails can be found on the BMS school website.
