Academic Bowl is a fun and exciting competition based on trivia and knowledge of completely random facts in a variety of subject areas. If you are in 7th or 8th grade and are interested in joining the Academic Bowl team, please attend an informational meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, October 6th from 3:20 until 4:00 in Mr. Nestler’s room.
Congratulations to the Middle School FFA Forestry Team for placing 1st at the Section Forestry Competition! Team members are Autumn Bonte, Lila Stickler, Lilith Zadravetz, and Jordan Vanacker. Great job!
REMINDER: The next Outdoor Adventure Club trip will be the AMAZING Caving Trip to Maquoketa State Park in Iowa! This trip will be NEXT Saturday, October 10th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the cost is $5.00. Registration forms are available in the BMS Office. Forms and money are due by the end of the day TOMORROW, Tuesday, October 6th.

Boys basketball season is getting started! If your child is interested in participating in basketball, please review the information below to get registered. Also please join the SportsYou codes below for more information from coaches.
How to Register Your Child for all sports.
Please follow these step-by-step directions to complete the registration process:
1.Log on to:

2. Create an account (continue to next step if you’ve created an account in the system previously).
3. Log in to your account & click Begin Registration to follow prompts. You will need to Add Participant’s Name
& ID # on initial login. If ID is unknown, please enter 1111 temporarily.
4. Select the Activity being registered for. Complete all required fields & click Save.
5. On the next screen you must print out & complete the Physical Form, and have it signed & dated where
indicated by the student, parent/guardian, & physician performing the exam. Send the physical form to the
office with your student.
6. Acknowledge all required documents have been read & accepted by BOTH the student and the
parent/guardian. Click Next. If both boxes are not checked, you will not be allowed to continue.
7. On the Registration Summary screen, click the “Submit” button. You will receive a confirmation email from

7th-grade boys basketball- Practice officially began TODAY, Monday, October 5th from 6:00 - 7:20 am at Byron PE Center. Students will walk together to the middle school after morning practice. Please join the Sports You below. 7th Sports you code: 74QZ-KD82
6th-grade boys basketball-Will begin on Tuesday, October 13th, Wednesday, October 14th, and Thursday, October 15th at the PE Center from 3:30 - 5:00 pm. Students will ride the transfer bus over to Mary Morgan and sit in Mary Mogan's cafeteria until their coaches start practice.
Sports you code will be posted once students are divided evenly on orange/black team.
6th Grade Volleyball players please stop in the office to grab a flyer for some upcoming off-season Volleyball opportunities in our area.
Join Byron Volleyball for our “Volley for the Cure” night TOMORROW, Tuesday, October 6th. All proceeds will be donated to help fight against Cancer.
FFA will be meeting Wednesday, October 7th in the Ag room from 3:00 – 4:00 pm. We will be continuing to improve our skills in Food Science, through our taste, smell, and intelligence. Come join us if you enjoy snacks and testing your knowledge.
Attention yearbook members: Order forms for apparel (tees, long sleeve tees, hoodies, and crewnecks) are in Google classroom and available in the office! Forms and payment are due by Wednesday, October 7th, at 3:00 pm. Ordering apparel is completely optional. See Mrs. Bukoski with any questions.
Upcoming Flu Clinic will be Thursday, October 8, 2026. Register for teen programs at the Byron Public Library! Sign up for Volunteens (Monday, October 5th), Halloween Crafts (drop-in on your day off school on Monday, October 12th from 2-4 pm), Hocus Pocus movie (Tuesday, October 20th), a Murder Mystery Extravaganza (Friday, October 30th) and Dungeons & Dragons (on Wednesdays) on the library website.
After-School Teen Time at the Byron Public Library is from 3:00 – 5:00 pm Mondays through Thursdays. No registration necessary- just show up when your schedule allows it!
