8th grade Promotion will be held on Thursday, May 21st at 6:00 p.m. in the Byron High School Gym.

Last day of school is Friday, May 29th with dismissal at 11:00.

2025-2026 BMS yearbooks are on sale NOW for $25 (cash or check made payable to BMS) in the office (if you did not purchase one at registration). Yearbooks will be passed out in early August. Any questions, see Mrs. Bukoski.  If you are uncertain if you purchased one at registration, please don't hesitate to call Mrs. Dill in the office and ask. Her direct line is 815-234-6403.

The BHS softball program has an opportunity to play in a softball league this summer.  This team will include incoming freshmen.  Games are on Wednesday nights.  If you are interested in playing, please see Mrs. Lawver in the office for an informational sheet with details.

Volleyball: All 6th thru 8th Graders please sign up & pick up Summer Camp Forms in the Main Office if you plan to participate in the Volleyball Program in the Fall.

Any 8th graders that are interested in high school cheer, try-outs will be held on May 15th in the P.E. Center from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.  Please complete the online registration form.  QR code is available in the office.  E-mail Coach Bawinkel with any questions: rbawinkel@byron226.org

For any 8th graders going on the Washington D.C. trip, there will be memorial rock painting for the trip at the Byron Public Library TOMORROW, Saturday, May 16th from 1:00 to 3:00.  All supplies will be provided.

Student Council will have its final meeting of the school year on Tuesday, May 19th in Ms. Free’s room. If you plan on attending, please fill out the survey in Google Classroom to plan the right amount of breakfast. 

The last Outdoor Adventure Club Trip for the school year is “ADVENTURE CAMP” at Silver Birch Ranch in Wisconsin Tuesday May 19th thru Thursday May 21st.  Cost is $150.00 and includes meals and the following activities: Tubing, Horseback Riding, Zip Lining, Rock Climbing Wall, Leap of Faith, Fishing, Swimming and Boating, Archery, Air Soft Shooting, BB Guns, Volleyball, Basketball, Gaga Ball, Mini-Golf, Game Room, and Campfire Program.  Registration is now closed for this trip.  SportsYou code: GAHX-GYM4.

UNPLUG – EXPLORE – CREATE:  Lowden State Park presents, ‘Together for Taft’ the ultimate nature-based hangout for ages 9 thru 14.  Includes 3 hours of pure adventure, including Forest & River exploration and Hands-on Building & Art.  No desks, no screens, just science in the wild.  Meets at Taft Shelter.  Cost is $20.00 per session.  Last session will be held Saturday, May 23rd from 12:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Check out their website www.togetherfortaft.org  Any questions please e-mail togetherfortaft@outlook.com

Attention all wrestlers, there is a wrestling camp taking place at Byron High School from June 8th - June 10thPaperwork for this camp is available for pickup in Mr. Boyer’s room.

Sign up for a Beginner Sewing Class (Monday, June 8th), Outdoor Extravaganza at Blackhawk Meadow Park (Friday, June 12th), Dungeons & Dragons Character Workshop (Monday, June 15th), Paint & Sip (Thursday, June 25th), National Treasure movie & free pizza (Monday, June 29th) and Dungeons & Dragons (on Wednesdays starting on June 10th) on the library website. Summer Teen Time begins on Monday, June 8th, on Mondays-Thursdays from 2-4 pm. Teen Time is drop-in, no registration is necessary.
