There are still Academic Bowl team members that have not returned their uniform shirts. Fees will be charged to replace shirts that are not returned. Please return your shirts to Mr. Nestler ASAP and you will get your Certificate of Participation.

Chess Club will meet today, 1/15 this week. The meeting will run from 3:20-4:00 in Mr. Kirk’s room, 700. You are welcome to report directly to room 700 if you are not working with a teacher after school. Chess Club is open to all middle students. You do not need to attend every meeting. The January Builder's Club meeting will be held TOMORROW, Friday, 1/16/26, from 3:00 – 4:00 pm, in room 601.

We will be discussing many upcoming projects that are planned for the semester.

Our off-campus volunteering opportunity will be on Monday, January 26th, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm, building bird houses for the Byron Forest Preserve.

The next Outdoor Adventure Club trip is SNOW CAMP in Silver Birch Ranch in Wisconsin, January 18th through 20th, 2026! This trip is FULL, there are no spots available.

The next Art Club meeting will be Wednesday, January 21st from 3:00-4:00 pm in the art room. Please sign up in the office if you would like to attend. All students are welcome.

Anyone interested in attending the student council workshop in Oregon on January 23rd needs to pick up a pink permission slip in the office. All permission slips must be returned by January 16th if you are wanting to attend.

Next student council meeting will be Tuesday, January 27th at 7:00 am in Ms. Free's room.

Register for teen programs at the Byron Public Library! Sign up for Dungeons & Dragons (Wednesdays on the 21st & 28th) and Global Treats (Thursday, Jan. 29th) on the library website.

Sign up for the library's Winter Reading Challenge through Beanstack, which runs through February 15th. Reading books and attending teen events both count for credit, and there will be two grand prizes of $50 Amazon cards.

6th- 8th grade wrestling - Any students that are wrestling, practice will be in the Mary Morgan Cafeteria from 3:30-5:00 PM. Students will ride the transfer bus to Mary Morgan and wait in the cafeteria for their coaches.

6th grade girl’s basketball – Practice is at the PE Center from 3:30-5:00 pm. Students will ride the transfer bus over to Mary Morgan and wait in the cafeteria for their coaches. There will be a Parent/Player meeting TONIGHT, 1/15/26 from 5:00 – 5:15 at the PE Center. Sportsyou codes will be given out after the orange/black teams are divided up.

7th grade girl’s basketball - Practices will be Monday-Thursday 3:30-5:00 pm and Friday mornings from 6:00-7:30 am at Byron Middle School. Sportsyou Code-YNZM-8CZP

8th grade girl’s basketball - Practice will be in the mornings before school Monday thru Friday at Byron Middle School. Sportsyou Code-N9PH-69GA

Registration is still open for above sports (6th through 8th grades).

PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS – 2025-26

1. Log on to: https://byron.8to18.com , Snap! Manage site.

2. Create an account (continue to next step if you’ve created an account in the system previously).

3. Log in to your account & click Begin Registration to follow prompts. You will need to Add Participant’s Name & ID # on initial login. If ID is unknown, please enter 1111 temporarily.

4. Select the Activity being registered for. Complete all required fields & click Save.

5. On the next screen, you may upload your completed Physical Examination Form, or you must print out & complete the Physical Form, and have it signed & dated where indicated by the student, parent/guardian, & physician performing the exam.

6. Acknowledge all required documents have been read & accepted by BOTH the student and the parent/guardian. Click Next. If both boxes are not checked, you will not be allowed to continue.

7. On the Registration Summary screen, click the “Submit” button.
