REMINDER, the ski trip to Chestnut Mountain that was originally set for December 12, 2025 is now THIS Friday, January 9th. Registration is closed for this trip – NO EXCEPTIONS!

Chess Club will meet Wednesday, 1/7, and Thursday, 1/8 this week. Meeting run from 3:20-4:00 in Mr. Kirk’s room, 700. You are welcome to report directly to room 700 if you are not working with a teacher after school. Chess Club is open to all middle students. You do not need to attend every meeting. Register for teen programs at the Byron Public Library! Sign up for Volunteens (Monday, Jan. 12th), Dungeons & Dragons (Wednesdays on the 14th, 21st & 28th) and Global Treats (Thursday, Jan. 29th) on the library website.
Sign up for the library's Winter Reading Challenge through Beanstack, which runs through February 15th. Reading books and attending teen events both count for credit, and there will be two grand prizes of $50 Amazon cards.
6th- 8th grade wrestling - Any students that are interested in wrestling this upcoming season please attend the meeting on Tuesday, January 6th from 3:30-4:30 PM in the BMS cafeteria. Practice will begin on Wednesday, January 7th in the Mary Morgan Cafeteria from 3:30-5:00 PM. Students will ride the transfer bus to Mary Morgan and wait in the cafeteria for their coaches.

6th grade girls’ basketball-Practice will begin on Monday, January 12, at the PE Center from 3:30-5 PM. Students will ride the transfer bus over to Mary Morgan and wait in the cafeteria for their coaches.

7th grade girls’ basketball-Practice will begin on Tuesday, January 6th from 3:30-5 PM. Practices will be Monday-Thursday 3:30-5 PM and Friday mornings from 6-7:30 AM at Byron Middle School.

7th and 8th Grade Girls Basketball Parent/Player Meeting on Wednesday, January 7th at 5:15 PM at BMS in the cafeteria.
Registration is still open for Girls Basketball and Byron Middle School Wrestling (6th through 8th grades).
PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS – 2025-26
1. Log on to: https://byron.8to18.com , Snap! Manage site.
2. Create an account (continue to next step if you’ve created an account in the system previously).
3. Log in to your account & click Begin Registration to follow prompts. You will need to Add Participant’s Name & ID # on initial login. If ID is unknown, please enter 1111 temporarily.
4. Select the Activity being registered for. Complete all required fields & click Save.
5. On the next screen, you may upload your completed Physical Examination Form, or you must print out & complete the Physical Form, and have it signed & dated where indicated by the student, parent/guardian, & physician performing the exam.
6. Acknowledge all required documents have been read & accepted by BOTH the student and the parent/guardian. Click Next. If both boxes are not checked, you will not be allowed to continue.
7. On the Registration Summary screen, click the “Submit” button.
