Congratulations again to both the 7th and 8th grade academic bowl teams. They both were 1st in regular conference play and also both finished 1st in the conference tournament last Saturday!
Academic Bowl participants: Please bring your CLEAN uniform shirt to Mr. Nestler after school any day this week. In return you will get your Academic Bowl certificate and 8th graders will also get their 1st place medals.
STEM Club will meet TOMORROW, Thursday, 12/18 from 3:20-4:00 in Room 700. This week’s meeting will focus on AI and coding. Additionally, we will be getting input on what members want to focus during second semester. All students are welcome. You do not need to attend all meetings. Student should report to Room 700 by 3:00 if they are not working with another teacher.
Student council will be selling candy canes & cookies this Friday morning before school for $1. All proceeds will go to St. Jude's Children Hospital. Please consider buying to help support a great cause!
Just a reminder that After School Program and thus the 4:00 Bus will run through tomorrow, Thursday, 12/18/25. They will resume on Tuesday, January 7, 2026!
Change to our scheduled ski trip to Chestnut Mountain that was originally set for last Friday.
Chestnut Mountain has notified us that, due to an unforeseen staff shortage, they would be closing the mountain early that day.
New Trip Date
To ensure the students have a full and enjoyable experience, we have successfully rescheduled the ski trip for Friday, January 9th.
What This Means for Registered Students
-Existing Registration: All current registrations and payments will be automatically transferred and remain valid for the January 9th trip date.
-Refunds: If your student is unable to attend the new January 9th date, a full refund will be issued. Please see Mrs. Lawver in the office.
New Registration Deadline
For any students who have not yet signed up but wish to attend the new January 9th date, the new registration deadline will be THIS Friday, December 19th.
We understand that a date change can be inconvenient and sincerely apologize for any disruption this may cause your family. Sign up for a Book Box (pick up on Friday, Jan 2nd), All-Day Dungeons & Dragons Extravaganza (Saturday, Jan. 3rd), Comic Book Workshop (Monday, Jan. 5th), Volunteens (Monday, Jan. 12th), Dungeons & Dragons (Wednesdays on the 14th, 21st & 28th) and Global Treats (Thursday, Jan. 29th) on the library website.
Sign up for the library's Winter Reading Challenge through Beanstack, which runs from December 15th- February 15th. Reading books and attending teen events both count for credit, and there will be two grand prizes of $50 Amazon cards.
Registration is open for Girls Basketball and Byron Middle School Wrestling (6th through 8th grades).
PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS – 2025-26
1. Log on to: https://byron.8to18.com , Snap! Manage site.
2. Create an account (continue to next step if you’ve created an account in the system previously).
3. Log in to your account & click Begin Registration to follow prompts. You will need to Add Participant’s Name & ID # on initial login. If ID is unknown, please enter 1111 temporarily.
4. Select the Activity being registered for. Complete all required fields & click Save.
5. On the next screen, you may upload your completed Physical Examination Form, or you must print out & complete the Physical Form, and have it signed & dated where indicated by the student, parent/guardian, & physician performing the exam.
6. Acknowledge all required documents have been read & accepted by BOTH the student and the parent/guardian. Click Next. If both boxes are not checked, you will not be allowed to continue.
7. On the Registration Summary screen, click the “Submit” button. You will receive a confirmation email from no-reply@8to18.com. This is open to any 6th, 7th, or 8th grader.
