Student council will be selling candy canes & cookies each Friday morning before school for $1. All proceeds will go to St. Jude's Children Hospital. Please consider buying to help support a great cause!

BHS Art Club is hosting a Pottery Workshop and YOU are invited! (Elementary students must be accompanied by an adult). This will be held in the BHS Art Studio on the following dates:

TODAY, Friday (Dec 5th) @ 3:30-5:30. Below are the glazing dates:

Monday (Dec 15th) @ 3:30-5:00; Tuesday (Dec 16th) @ 3:30-5:00

Come and make bowls! They will teach you how! The first bowl you make will be donated to the Dry Bowls Fundraiser, and the second and thereafter you can purchase for $20.00 each. Payment due at workshop and can be cash or a check made out to BHS. Register at link on BHS Studio 226 Instagram or District and/or High School Website.

Student Council will meet on Tuesday, December 9th at 7:00 in Ms. Free's room

Chess Club will meet Tuesday, 12/9, and Thursday, 12/11 next week. Meeting run from 3:20-4:00 p.m. in Mr. Kirk’s room, 700. You are welcome to report directly to room 700 if you are not working with a teacher after school. Chess Club is open to all middle students. You do not need to attend every meeting. The next OAC Trip will be Downhill Skiing at Chestnut Mountain in Galena, IL on Friday, December 12th Students will depart BMS at 1:45 PM and return to BMS at 10:00 PM. Cost of the trip this year is $35.00. Forms can be picked up in the office and will need to be returned no later than noon on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025.

Do you think you have what it takes to be crown Top Tiger? Join Chess Club on Saturday, 12/13, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. to compete in on our first Top Tiger Tournament open to all BMS students.

How can I sign up? Choose one of the following ways and do so by the end of the day on Thursday, 12/11: Sign-up in the office. Join the Chess Club Google Classroom (3rt4j6) and/or sportsYou (5B6A-RNEF) and reply to the event. Email Mr. Kirk.

The High School Choir Department needs assistance with their Madrigal Dinner this year. They are looking for students to help with serving meals on December 14th from 1:00 - 4:30. If interested in helping, please email Mr. Jaworowski.

Student council is hosting a Christmas dress up week Monday 12/15 to Friday 12/19.

12/15: Christmas PJ Day; 12/16: Snowman Day (white out with snowman accessories like hat, scarf, gloves);

12/17: Christmas From Head to Toe (Santa Hats to Christmas Socks); 12/18: Grinch and Whos;

12/19: Ugly Christmas Sweater

The next Art Club meeting will be Wednesday, December 17th from 3:00-4:00 in the art room. Please sign up in the office if you would like to attend. All students are welcome.

Sign up for teen programs at the Byron Public Library! Register Dungeons & Dragons (Wednesday, Dec. 10th), Gingerbread House Contest (Thursday, Dec. 11th), The Nightmare Before Christmas movie matinee (Monday, Dec. 22nd) and Smash Bros. Switch Tournament (Monday, Dec. 29th) on the library website.

Registration is open for Girls Basketball and Byron Middle School Wrestling (6th through 8th grades).

PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS – 2025-26

1. Log on to: https://byron.8to18.com , Snap! Manage site.

2. Create an account (continue to next step if you’ve created an account in the system previously).

3. Log in to your account & click Begin Registration to follow prompts. You will need to Add Participant’s Name & ID # on initial login. If ID is unknown, please enter 1111 temporarily.

4. Select the Activity being registered for. Complete all required fields & click Save.

5. On the next screen, you may upload your completed Physical Examination Form, or you must print out & complete the Physical Form, and have it signed & dated where indicated by the student, parent/guardian, & physician performing the exam.

6. Acknowledge all required documents have been read & accepted by BOTH the student and the parent/guardian. Click Next. If both boxes are not checked, you will not be allowed to continue.

7. On the Registration Summary screen, click the “Submit” button. You will receive a confirmation email from no-reply@8to18.com. This is open to any 6th, 7th, or 8th grader.
