The After School Program for the 2025-26 school year has begun. All are welcome, Mondays thru Thursdays in the Library from 3:20-4:00. Transportation home is available, if needed.

It’s almost boys’ basketball season! Registration is currently open and the directions to get registered are listed below. We are excited to kick off another fantastic season. If you have any questions or issues, please do not hesitate to reach out to the athletic director at BMS, 815-234-5491 - extension 2004. We will be sending out more information about practices, schedules, and locations soon, so stay tuned.

PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS – 2025-26

1. Log on to: https://byron.8to18.com , Snap! Manage site.

2. Create an account (continue to next step if you’ve created an account in the system previously).

3. Log in to your account & click Begin Registration to follow prompts. You will need to Add Participant’s Name & ID # on initial login. If ID is unknown, please enter 1111 temporarily.

4. Select the Activity being registered for. Complete all required fields & click Save.

5. On the next screen, you may upload your completed Physical Examination Form, or you must print out & complete the Physical Form, and have it signed & dated where indicated by the student, parent/guardian, & physician performing the exam.

6. Acknowledge all required documents have been read & accepted by BOTH the student and the parent/guardian. Click Next. If both boxes are not checked, you will not be allowed to continue.

7. On the Registration Summary screen, click the “Submit” button. You will receive a confirmation email from no-reply@8to18.com.

Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grader who would like to join yearbook should sign up in the office. Also, join the yearbook Google classroom with the code: z74vmuop.

Yearbook will have their first meeting Tuesday, September 9th, from 3:00-3:30 in the 7th grade pod. If you cannot attend the meeting, please email Mrs. Bukoski to let her know you are interested in becoming a member.

The first Outdoor Adventure Club trip for the school year is to Devil’s Lake State Park Friday and Saturday, September 5th & 6th for Fishing or Hiking, including camping out and a night hike. Cost is $35.00 and includes camp fees, Saturday breakfast, lunch and snacks. Registration is now closed for this trip.

The Builder's Club is ready to kick off the new school year. Our first meeting will be TOMORROW, Friday, Sept 5th from 3:00 – 4:00 in Room 601. Builder's Club is a student organization that volunteers for service projects in our school and our community. Some projects we did last year included sorting food at People Helping People food pantry, making bandanas for pets at the animal shelters, and doing the Polar Plunge. Interested students can pick up a registration form in the main office. The only fee is for new members and the cost of the t-shirt, former members do not have to pay or register again.

The first Art Club meeting will be Monday, September 8th from 3:00-4:00 in the art room. Please sign up in the office if you would like to attend. All students are welcome!

Anyone interested in joining student council can join our Google Classroom (code ej4wdaj4). Our first meeting will be NEXT Tuesday, September 9th @ 7:00 AM in Ms. Free's classroom. If you cannot make this meeting, please still join to get info on future meetings. See Ms. Free with any questions.

There is a limited supply of yearbooks available to purchase from last school year. The cost is $25 (cash or check to BMS) and can be purchased in the middle school office.

Registration for the trapshooting team is open. Head to www.claytargetgo.com/ams to register. The team ID code is BYN636. Any questions can be directed to Coach Oliver at poliver@byron226.org

Sign up for teen programs at the Byron Public Library! Register for weekly Dungeons & Dragons (Wednesdays at 3:30 pm), Chess Horizons (September 2nd & 16th at 5:30 pm), Volunteens (Monday, September 8th at 6 pm) and Will It Waffle (Tuesday, September 30th at 6 pm) on the library website. In addition, after-school Teen Time begins Monday, September 8th. Teen Time will be on Mondays-Thursdays from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. No registration is necessary for Teen Time.
