2024-2025 BMS yearbooks are on sale now for $25 (cash or check made payable to BMS) in the office. Yearbooks will be passed out in early August. Any questions, see Mrs. Bukoski.

Byron Park District will be hosting a BMS cheerleading clinic on May 7th and 8th. Please see the office for a flyer & register online through the park district website. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in trying out for BMS cheerleading next school year.

Sign up for teen programs at the Byron Public Library! Register for a Drawing Workshop (April 21st- your day off school), Volunteens (May 5th) and Chess Horizons (May 6th & 20th) on the library website.

Free Comic Book Day is Saturday, May 3rd and there will be free comics for all ages from 9 am-noon at the Byron Library lobby. There is no registration for FCBD, just show up! A huge Grogu plushie will be raffled off for those who attend.

The next Art Club meeting will be Tuesday, April 22nd from 3:00-4:00 in the art room. Please sign up in the office if you would like to attend. 

The next Outdoor Adventure Club outing will be a CAVING Trip to Maquoketa State Park in Maquoketa, Iowa on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Cost is $5.00.  Registration forms are available for pickup in the office.  Forms and money are due in the office by Wednesday, April 23rd.  This is an exciting trip and a chance to explore many unique caves! 

Attention Students:

Dr. Mutchler, the counselor from Mary Morgan is retiring at the end of the school year. Please help us send her into retirement by making her a card. Cards can wish her well or thank her for helping you when you were at Mary Morgan.  Please give your cards to Mrs. Burris by Friday, April 25th. If you have any questions, you can also ask Mrs. Burris.

8th Grade: It’s time to start thinking about what you want to do when you get into high school.  If you are interested in being part of BHS Student Council, the application link is in your 2029 Google Classroom; submit your Application by April 30th.  You can also apply to be an officer in Student Council, using the same application.  Incoming Freshmen can apply to be an Underclassmen Representative (there will be more than one) and Assistant Historian.  If you have questions, please email Mrs. Ebens at the HS; kebens@byron226.org

Reminder:  Spring Activity Club pictures will be in the gym on Tuesday, April 29th at the end of the school day and Track pictures will be that same day after school.

8th grade: CLASS OFFICER Application: Submit your Application by April 30th

This is NOT Student Council and You do not attend meetings for student council unless you choose to be a part of student council.  If you are interested in applying the application is in your 2029 Google Classroom.

This is a position that works with the class advisor to PLAN Homecoming for your class.  See the application for more information.  Usually this job consists of 4 students, sometimes more or sometimes less.  If you ever plan to be a class officer for your Senior Year of high school you MUST apply to be an officer during your 3 years prior.  Contact Mrs. Ebens via email with questions: kebens@byron226.org 

Mark your calendars:  8th grade promotion will be Thursday, May 22nd at 6:00 p.m. in the Byron High School Gymnasium.  That will also be the last day of school for 8th graders and they will be dismissed early.

Calling all leaders!!!! Mrs. Heather has information about summer leadership camp for 6th and 7th graders. This camp is held June 22nd thru 28th. We would love to send several leaders this year!!
