The next FFA meeting is TODAY, Monday, January 27th from 3:00-4:00 pm and there is a Meat Judging Practice at Eickmann’s this Thursday, January 30th from 3:00-6:00 pm.

The next Art Club meeting will be TOMORROW, Tuesday, January 28th from 3:00-4:00 in the art room. Please sign up in the office if you would like to attend. All students are welcome.

Chess Club membership is available to all middle school students. You do not need to attend every meeting to be part of Chess Club. Chess Club will meet Wednesday only this week in room 708 at 3:20 until 4:00. Students are welcome to report at 3:00 if they are not working with a teacher after school. The next Outdoor Adventure Club trip is Downhill Skiing at Chestnut Mountain in Galena, Illinois on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Cost is $35.00 and covers lift, lesson, and snowboard or ski rental (including boots, poles, and helmet if desired). Registration forms are available in the office. Forms and money are due in the office by 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 4th – NO EXCEPTIONS!

Spring Trap season is quickly approaching. New students interested in joining the team should contact Coach Oliver at poliver@byron226.org to verify all requirements are met for eligibility.

February programs at the Byron Public Library are now open for registration! Sign up for Volunteens (Monday, 2/3), Dungeons & Dragons (on Wednesdays), Chess Horizons (Tuesdays on 2/11 & 2/25), Cookies in a Mug (Thursday, 2/13), or Stenciled Tote Bags (Thursday, 2/27). Register through the library website.

Participate in the Byron Public Library's Winter Reading Challenge by reading five books and/or attending teen programs in January and February. Two winners will be chosen, each of whom will win a $50 Amazon card. Register through byron.beanstack.org or see Nancy for details.

If you are walking towards the high school after school, please walk in the designated areas, especially when crossing the railroad tracks. Walking behind the storage units and across the tracks while not on the sidewalk is dangerous.
