Please congratulate our middle school Vet Science and Horse Judging Teams on great competitions! The Vet Science team of Kyane Starr, Autumn Bonte, Iris Nielsen, and Zoe Foltz took 1st place at the contest and Kyane Starr received 2nd and Autumn Bonte scored 3rd top scores overall. At the Horse Judging Contest the team of Clare Duncan, Jake Feldhaus, Paisley Holder, and Hannah Fredrickson took 37 out of 53 HIGH SCHOOL teams which means they held their own as a middle school team. Clare Duncan had the top team score with Jake earning a close second place!
The next FFA meeting is Monday, January 27th from 3:00-4:00 pm and there is a Meat Judging Practice at Eickmann’s Thursday, January 30th from 3:00-6:00 pm.
The next Art Club meeting will be NEXT Tuesday, January 28th from 3:00-4:00 in the art room. Please sign up in the office if you would like to attend. All students are welcome.
The next Outdoor Adventure Club trip is Downhill Skiing at Chestnut Mountain in Galena, Illinois on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Cost is $35.00 and covers lift, lesson, and snowboard or ski rental (including boots, poles, and helmet if desired). Registration forms are available in the office. Forms and money are due in the office by 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 4th – NO EXCEPTIONS!

Sign up for Volunteens (Monday, 2/3), Dungeons & Dragons (on Wednesdays), Chess Horizons (Tuesdays on 2/11 & 2/25), Cookies in a Mug (Thursday, 2/13), or Stenciled Tote Bags (Thursday, 2/27). Participate in the Byron Public Library's Winter Reading Challenge by reading five books and/or attending teen programs in January and February. Two winners will be chosen, each of whom will win a $50 Amazon card. Register through byron.beanstack.org or see Nancy for details.
If you are walking towards the high school after school, please walk in the designated areas, especially when crossing the railroad tracks. Walking behind the storage units and across the tracks while not on the sidewalk is dangerous.
