IMPORTANT READ! During this cold weather, we want to remind everyone to be sure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the conditions, including wearing a coat. Please note that students will go outside for lunch recess as long as the "real feel" temperature is 10 degrees or above. Proper outerwear will help keep them comfortable during outdoor activities.
The next FFA meeting is TODAY, Monday 1/13 from 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Vet Science CDE is at Rochelle HS on Wednesday 1/15. Bus leaves at 4:00 pm. Horse Judging CDE is Saturday 1/18. Bus leaves at 7:00 a.m.
Chess club will meet Tuesday, 1/14 and Wednesday, 1/15 in room 708 at 3:20 until 4:00 PM. Students are welcome to arrive by 3:00 if they are not working with a teacher.
Sign up for teen programs at the Byron Public Library! Register for D&D (on Wednesdays), and Volunteens on the library website. As a reminder, Teen Time starts again TODAY, Monday, January 13th.
Want to attend a fun activity after school? THIS Friday, Jan. 17th, the high school music honor society students will be holding a game and karaoke event. It will be held in the middle school cafeteria from 3:00-4:00. Board games, cards, corn hole, and karaoke will be available at this free event.
The next Outdoor Adventure Club trip is: SNOW CAMP at SILVER BIRCH RANCH, January 19th, 20th, and 21st . Registration is now closed for this trip. Final Payment is DUE by the end of the day Thursday, January 16th – NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
Builder’s Club next meeting will be on Jan. 24th from 3:00 -4:00 pm.
The BHS Library is looking for teams to participate in our Puzzles & Pajamas Fundraiser on Sunday, January 26th from 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. in the BHS Gym. The event is open to students, parents, staff and community members. Teams can have up to 4 members and the cost is $40. You can pick up a flyer and registration form in the library or on the school website.
If you are walking towards the high school after school, please walk in the designated areas, especially when crossing the railroad tracks. Walking behind the storage units and across the tracks while not on the sidewalk is dangerous.
