IMPORTANT READ! During this cold weather, we want to remind everyone to be sure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the conditions, including wearing a coat. Please note that students will go outside for lunch recess as long as the "real feel" temperature is 10 degrees or above. Proper outerwear will help keep them comfortable during outdoor activities.
The Ogle County All-Stars will be selling assorted bracelets for $1.00 at the basketball game tomorrow. All proceeds will go toward their program. Please help support this great cause!
6th grade girls’ basketball has begun. Practice will be at Byron PE Center from 3:20-5:00 p.m. Students will ride the transfer bus over to Mary Morgan for practice.
7th and 8th grade girls’ basketball has begun. Practice will be at Byron Middle School from 3:20-5:00 p.m.

FFA Christmas Tree recycling is TOMORROW, Saturday 1/11. Homes in town: Leave your tree on the curb by Saturday 7:00 a.m. and it will be picked up. FFA middle school students can volunteer to help. Volunteers should dress WARM and meet at the boat launch just west of Hairy Cow at 9:00 a.m.
Chess club will meet next Tuesday, 1/14 and Wednesday, 1/15 in room 708 at 3:20 until 4:00 PM. Students are welcome to arrive by 3:00 if they are not working with a teacher.
The next FFA meeting is Monday 1/13 from 3:00 – 4:00 pm. Vet Science CDE is at Rochelle HS on Wednesday 1/15. Bus leaves at 4:00 pm. Horse Judging CDE is Saturday 1/18. Bus leaves at 7:00 a.m.
Sign up for teen programs at the Byron Public Library! Register for D&D (on Wednesdays), and Volunteens (Monday, Jan. 13th) on the library website. As a reminder, there is no Teen Time until Monday, January 13th.
Want to attend a fun activity after school? Next Friday, Jan. 17th the high school music honor society students will be holding a game and karaoke event. It will be held in the middle school cafeteria from 3:00-4:00. Board games, cards, corn hole, and karaoke will be available at this free event.
The next Outdoor Adventure Club trip is: SNOW CAMP at SILVER BIRCH RANCH, January 19th, 20th, and 21st . More information, Registration and Medical forms are available in the office. Registration is now closed for this trip. Final Payment is DUE by the end of the day Thursday, January 16th – NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

If you are walking towards the high school after school, please walk in the designated areas, especially when crossing the railroad tracks. Walking behind the storage units and across the tracks while not on the sidewalk is dangerous.
