8th Graders: On May 10th, you will be asked to participate in the Illinois Youth Survey during FLEX, and it is given every other year to 8th and 10th grade students. Please ask Mrs. Burris if you have any questions.
Stop by the library this Saturday morning anytime between 9:00 am and noon for Free Comic Book Day! Free comics for all ages, along with a few Star Wars crafts and a raffle, will be available. No registration is necessary.
Volunteer at the Byron Library on Monday, May 6th at 6:00 pm for the organization Meals on Wheels by decorating lunch bags. Register through the library website.
Any student council members interested in summer leadership camp, please see Mrs. Heather before May 5th.
All students should be down to only one library checkout at this point in the year. Final Checkout Dates for each grade level are May 14th- 6th grade, May 17th- 7th grade, and May 13th for 8th grade.
Also, 8th graders, all books are due back to the library May 20th
The District Art Show will be Thursday, May 9th from 4:30-7:30 in the BHS gym. All students who took part in art class this year will have at least one piece of art on display. Please join us to celebrate the work of our talented young artists. See you there!
Attention 8th graders interested in Football! There will be a pre-season football meeting on Wednesday, May 15th at 6:00 pm in the Byron High School Commons (Cafeteria) for incoming Freshmen. Mr. Boyer will be sending a letter to 8th grade families of kids that played previously.
Attention Parents of 6th and 7th graders: Back to School Supply kits for the 2024-25 school year are available to order. A flyer went home with the students, but if you didn’t receive one, it’s attached to the Skyward announcements (or you can stop by the main office and grab one). You may scan the QR code to order. Don’t forget to note the grade your student will be in NEXT year when ordering!
The next Outdoor Adventure Club trip is the WHITE WATER RAFT TRIP! This trip will be Tuesday, May 21st thru Thursday, May 23rd to Silver Birch Ranch in White Lake Wisconsin. The cost of the trip is $140.00 and includes Room, Food, Activities, Instruction and Equipment. Registration forms containing all the information are available in the office and are due in the office on Monday, May 13th.
2023-2024 BMS yearbooks are on sale now for $25 (cash or check made payable to BMS) in the office. Yearbooks will be passed out in early August. Any questions, see Mrs. Bukoski.
