ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR MONDAY, APRIL 15, 2024
 

Bring in your pop tabs!  We are collecting them for Ronald McDonald House.  The grade with the most pop tabs will get to pie a teacher in the face.

 

Attention any students 13 years old or older:  Want to make some extra money this year detasseling corn?  Forms with more information are available in the office.

 

Sign up for April programs at the Byron Public Library – Volunteens, TODAY; 4/15 & Plant Globe Terrariums Monday, 4/22.  All programs at 6:00 pm. Register on the library website. 

 

8th graders interested in BHS cheerleading can attend open gyms, (where they will learn the tryout material), TODAY, Monday, April 15th, Tuesday, April 16th and Wednesday, April 17th at 6:15 a.m. - 7:15 a.m. in the PE Center.  Then tryouts will be held in the PE Center after school on the 17th starting at 3:30.

 

We're excited to announce our upcoming event on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Byron McDonalds! It’s Byron Middle School McTeacher Night!  Take the family out to eat and support your school!!!

- 15% of all sales from the drive-thru and in-store will go straight to our school as a fundraiser.

- There will be cookie sales too. Teachers can sell our chocolate chip cookies to customers in the lobby or drive- thru, with 100% of these sales also going to our school! 

- We will have a kid's table set up for them to color and maybe play games or giveaways.

- We offer a 50/50 raffle in which teachers can sell tickets for $1 each, and at the end of the night, the  winner gets 50% of the raised money, and the rest goes to the school!

 

 The next Art Club meeting will be NEXT Thursday, April 25th from 3:00-4:00 in the Art room.  Please sign up in the office if you would like to attend to ensure Mrs. Bierman has supplies for you.  Students can ride the 4:00 bus home, if needed.  All students are welcome.

 

The next Outdoor Adventure Club Activity all students are invited to go on a hike at Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Parks on Saturday, April 27th.  This is a 1-¼ hour ride south from Byron, and you will have an opportunity to explore canyons, and investigate waterfalls. Participants will need to eat a nutritious breakfast before they come. Registration Forms may be picked up in the Middle School Office.

Deadline for registration is NO LATER THAN: Wednesday April 23rd by 8:30 AM in the Middle School Office.

 

The District Art Show will be Thursday, May 9th from 4:30-7:30 in the BHS gym.  All students who took part in art class this year will have at least one piece of art on display.  Please join us to celebrate the work of our talented young artists.  See you there!

 

2023-2024 BMS yearbooks are on sale now for $25 (cash or check made payable to BMS) in the office.  Yearbooks will be passed out in early August.  Any questions, see Mrs. Bukoski.
